From Organic Waste to Clean, Compressed Biogas

CBG Plant: Manufacturing and Turnkey EPC

Bharat Bioenergy and Renewable is a leading CBG plant manufacturer and EPC company in India, providing complete Compressed Biogas (CBG) plant solutions. That covers project design, engineering, equipment supply, construction, installation, commissioning and operation and maintenance, all under one roof.

Our turnkey CBG plants are built to handle a wide range of feedstocks, including press mud, cow dung, spent wash, Napier grass, sewage water, agricultural waste and other organic waste streams. They convert this material into high purity compressed biogas suitable for vehicle fuel, PNG grid injection and domestic use, while liquid and solid fermented manure come out the other end as valuable by-products.

With more than 15 turnkey CBG project references across India and overseas, and equipment manufactured in-house, we combine proven technology with hands-on project execution experience to deliver dependable, revenue-ready CBG plants.

FAQs

What kind of waste can go into your CBG plants?
Quite a lot, actually. We work with press mud, cow dung, spent wash, Napier grass, sewage water, farm waste, and several other organic waste types.
How many CBG plants have you actually built?
We’ve completed over 15 full CBG projects so far, spread across Maharashtra, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, and Punjab. Three more have gone up outside India.
What all is included when you take on a CBG project?
Pretty much everything. We start with feedstock assessment and design, then move through construction, installation, commissioning, and ongoing O&M. One team handles the whole thing.
Do you build your own equipment, or buy it in?
We build it ourselves. Double-membrane gas holders, containerized upgradation units, and biogas screw compressors all come out of our own facilities in Pune and Karnataka.
How pure is the gas you produce?
Our plants consistently hit over 98% methane purity.

Industrial Biogas Plant Solutions

We design and build engineered biogas plant solutions for industries, agri-businesses and municipalities, bringing anaerobic digestion, biogas collection, purification and downstream energy applications together into a single, reliable system. Curious how the process works end to end?

Our biogas plant experience spans a wide range of feedstocks, including press mud, poultry litter, mixed agricultural feedstocks, sewage and effluent, and it’s supported by equipment we manufacture ourselves at our Pune and Karnataka facilities.

Feedstocks

Our biogas plants are engineered to process diverse organic waste streams, including:

Press Mud Press Mud
Napier Grass Napier Grass
Agricultural Waste Agricultural Waste
Spent Wash Spent Wash
Sewage / Sewage Sludge Sewage / Sewage Sludge
Poultry Litter
Mixed Agro Waste
Other Suitable Organic Waste

How the Process Works

The process runs from feedstock handling to slurry preparation, then anaerobic digestion, biogas collection, H₂S treatment and biogas upgradation, ending in an energy or CBG application. It’s designed to connect directly into CBG-grade upgradation.

Equipment & Systems

Every biogas plant is built around proven, field-tested equipment:

  • CSTR Anaerobic Digesters
  • Double Membrane Biogas Holders
  • H₂S Scrubbing Systems
  • Feedstock Handling Systems
  • Digestate Dewatering
  • Solid-Liquid Separation
  • Fertilizer Handling Systems

Our proven technology stack includes CSTR digesters, double-membrane gas holders, H₂S scrubbing systems, spent-wash digesters and membrane-based CO₂ removal, deployed across multiple operational projects.

FAQs

What feedstock works for an industrial biogas plant?
We’ve built plants running on press mud, poultry litter, a mix of farm waste, sewage, and effluent. That’s just what shows up in our project records — there’s flexibility beyond that too.
What equipment goes into these plants?
CSTR digesters, double-membrane gas holders, H₂S scrubbers, feedstock handling systems, plus dewatering and solid-liquid separation for the digestate.
Can I upgrade biogas into CBG later on?
Yes, and that’s actually how the system is set up from the start. Gas moves through digestion, collection, H₂S treatment, and upgradation, so adding a CBG stage down the line is straightforward.
Biogas plant or CBG plant — what’s the real difference?
A biogas plant produces raw gas through digestion, plain and simple. A CBG plant takes that same gas and purifies and compresses it, so it’s usable as vehicle fuel or ready for grid injection.
